THE BRIEF

Greenlea Meats Morrinsville called on the experienced team at Hennessy to deliver the electrical requirements for additions to their meat processing facility – a new Added Value room and Meat Chiller.

We worked in partnership with the good people at Rotating Machinery, who designed and supplied the extract fans for the chiller and the dip tank.

PLANNING STAGE

During the planning stage, we developed a new Scada page layout for Greenlea to integrate their new room requirements. The Scada layout included a new refrigerator control system, modifying their existing power busbar system to accommodate the new power requirements.

We planned the new lighting and emergency lighting layout, and the new automation controls to enable the carton conveyors to operate smoothly.

We also planned for the new power and ethernet connection requirements for the race control unit and printer.

DESIGN STAGE

The Hennessy team designed lighting and cabling to meet the client’s and Council’s requirements for meat industry standards.

The power and controls considered the Supervac packaging machine and vacuum pump, and the new refrigeration control system requirements.

We integrated new automation controls for the carton conveyors and power and ethernet cabling connections for the race control and printer, and modified the existing power busbar system to accommodate the new room’s power requirements.

We work with our trusted partners, Rotating Machinery Limited, who designed and supplied the extract fans and dip tank.

BUILD STAGE

The electrical and ethernet cabling was completed by the team at Hennessy, and due to good planning, we were able to navigate supply delays. Rotating Machinery supplied the extract fans for the chiller and dip tank design, and the installation was undertaken without a hitch.

END RESULT

The result was a turn-key electrical project for the new added value and chiller boning room extension. Greenlea was satisfied with the work, with the job completed on-time and on-budget, and all lighting meeting the meat industry standards and Council’s building consent requirements.

It was a pleasure to partner with Greenlea once again, to help improve their operations and prepare them for a successful future.
